SLAYTON —Murray County Central senior Jack Thony enjoyed a Jesse Owens-type of day Thursday, as he earned four gold medals in the Sub-Section 10 (Section 3A, Sub-Region 2) high school track and field meet. Thony won all three sprints 100-meter dash (10.95), 200 (22.26) and 400 (51.09), while also placing first in the long jump (20 feet, three inches) to complete a perfect day and score 40 points for the Rebels.

Steven Paul Bickner
Steve Bickner, 48, died at his home in Minneapolis on April 3. Steve left us much too soon, after many years of struggling with alcoholism. Steve was a talented machinist, a music lover, and an avid bicyclist. He is survived by his parents, William and Mary Bickner of Stillwater, MN; his brothers Bill, Bob, John, Ken and Ed; sisters Pat Bickner and Carole Sauers; and nephews and nieces Aaron, Merit, Faith, Iris, Guthrie, Rayna, Ryan and Riley. Steve's sense of humor and bright smile will be missed. A memorial service will be held at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23rd Ave S, Minneapolis, at 3:00 pm on April 13, 2013. Memorials to Dono
