Locals participate in last ‘Daffodil Days’ campaign
WORTHINGTON — For 40 years, the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days has signaled the approaching arrival of spring with bright yellow blooms offered for sale during the month of March. The bouquets in bloom have also been a sign of hope and renewal for cancer patients and survivors. But with the rising cost for the dainty daffodils and the high fuel prices associated with trucking the flowers from the West Coast, the ACS has decided this will be the final year for one of its oldest, most beloved fundraisers.
