WORTHINGTON — One Worthington team exited gracefully in sectional tournament action Saturday. Another split a pair of decisions but remained in contention. In Marshall, the Trojans softball team defeated Montevideo 9-8 in the loser’s bracket of the Section 3AA tourney Saturday to set up a contest later in the day against Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta. In that game, WHS wound up on the losing end of a 6-0 score.

WORTHINGTON — Jo Haugan never set out to be a librarian. It was more of an accidental career, something she fell into but resolved to make the best of for the duration — which turned out to be more than 36 years. She joined the staff of the Nobles County Library on Sept. 20, 1976, and will officially retire on the last day of this month.
