WORTHINGTON — In the 10 years that she’s been a member of the Worthington Garden Club, Jean Bastian has presented programs on various garden topics, served on several committees and brought specimens of her own flowers to the club’s shows. But her biggest contribution to the club is probably her organizational skills.

Letter: Early Risers support painting project
Members of Early Risers Kiwanis, who weren’t able to physically paint on the schoolhouse and front office building, donated to purchase hours given in service by the high school AOK (Art Optimist Kiwanis) Club. The club worked vigorously after school for 34 hours until the end of the school year. Gail Holinka, adviser to the AOK Club, strongly encouraged the service project and even personally picked up the brush.
