AMATEUR BASEBALL: Winsted defeats Lamberton 
GAYLORD — Winsted lead-off batter Tony Kley was 4-for-6 Sunday and was one of five Wildcats that crossed the plate twice, as the Region 7 champions defeated Lamberton, 14-1, Sunday in a third round game of the Class C State Amateur Baseball Tournament at Walsh Field.

GAYLORD — Derrick Jenniges remained perfect on the hill this summer and the Windom Pirates were eliminated from the state amateur baseball tournament Friday evening, as the Lamberton Long Sox — behind another sparkling pitching performance by Jenniges — defeated the Pirates, 3-1.

AMATEUR BASEBALL: Pirates sweep past Buttermakers 
HADLEY — Once again receiving strong all-around defensive play and clutch pitching performances Sunday afternoon, the Windom Pirates earned an exciting 4-3 victory over the Hadley Buttermakers in Game 3 of the Region 13C amateur baseball playoffs — sweeping the best-of-five series and securing a berth in the Class C State Baseball Tournament.

JACKSON — All season-long, the Jackson Bulls have been a well-balanced team at the plate, getting different players to come through with clutch hits. That trend was evident again Sunday afternoon, as seven Bulls came up with hits and Jackson claimed a 7-4 victory over Wilmont in Game 3 of a best-of-five Region 13C amateur baseball playoff series.
