MARSHALL — Early in the game, Windom junior guard Levi Gotto pumped his fist when classmate Travis Mattson rifled in a 3-pointer from the right corner, and after sinking a pair of free throws himself with 1.9 seconds remaining in the second half Saturday afternoon, the fiery Eagle playmaker retreated back on defense with both arms waving high above his head.

MARSHALL — With the score tied at 42 with 11 minutes remaining in Saturday night’s Section 3A South boys’ basketball championship game, Ellsworth’s Casey Schilling sparked a 23-8 run that gave the top-seeded Panthers a 65-50 lead and led to a 69-54 victory over the second-seeded Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots at a jam-packed R/A Facility on the campus of Southwest Minnesota State University.
