BOULDER, Colo. — The 30-megawatt juwi Wind project in Nobles County is now generating clean, renewable energy to serve about 10,000 homes. The energy is being sold to Xcel Energy Inc. under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
About $67 million was invested in the community to build the 15 REpower MM92 2-megawatt turbines.
HERON LAKE - Guardian Energy Heron Lake LLC has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire the ethanol production assets from Heron Lake BioEnergy LLC, according to a press release issued Wednesday afternoon.
SIBLEY, Iowa — Cooperative Energy Company has exhibited what many consider exceptional operational growth over the past seven years that has rewarded Cooperative Energy Company patrons, residing in five counties in northwest Iowa and three counties in southwest Minnesota, with many different opportunities.
FULDA — Interstate Power and Light Company, an Alliant Energy company, is helping an ethanol plant in southwestern Minnesota save energy with a new fan system. Heron Lake BioEnergy earned a substantial rebate check from Alliant Energy for work to convert its coal-fired boiler system to natural gas, and reduce electrical use at the same time.
It may have slipped under the radar, but the Obama Administration should be commended for supporting strong domestic energy policy by boosting biodiesel production last week under the Renewable Fuel Standard.
