Men of Honor: Legion, VFW members collaborate to provide military rites
WORTHINGTON — If the local Honor Guard had a motto, it might be similar to what’s inscribed on the General Post Office in New York City: Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.
In the case of the veterans, however, it could read: Neither snow nor blizzard nor rain nor sleet nor gale-force wind nor cold nor heat stays these men from honoring their fellow veterans.

Legion to go up for sale
WORTHINGTON — Tuesday’s vote finalized the decision. The Calvin Knuth Post 5 American Legion will lock its doors after close of business Saturday.
The first vote by attending members to close the doors took place during the December meeting, but financial officer Steve Ahlberg presented information and numbers Tuesday during an open meeting, followed by a closed meeting and a final vote.
