WORTHINGTON — For the second year in a row, the Spirit of Worthington Trojan Marching Band captured first place in the Class AAA parade competition at the 62nd annual Tri-State Band Festival in Luverne.
KTD grand parade is Saturday at 2 p.m.
WORTHINGTON — While Worthington area residents, along with guests from far and wide, navigate through a swirl of events during the annual King Turkey Day (KTD) festivities, for many people it’s the Grand Parade at 2 p.m. Saturday that cannot be missed.
Mick’s Repair’s entry took first place honors in Tuesday night’s Holiday Parade in downtown Worthington. Santa and one of his helpers wave from atop the Worthington Fire Department’s ladder truck at the close of festivities. The entry from Wells Fargo Bank earned second place in the night’s judging.
WHS band received four parade champion titles this season
WORTHINGTON — After netting its fourth parade grand championship of the season at the Anoka Halloween Parade this past Saturday, the “Spirit of Worthington” Trojan marching band returns home to join with District 518’s fifth- through eighth-grade band students in the annual Indoor Marching Band Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Worthington High School (WHS) gymnasium.
ELLSWORTH — Nine World War II veterans from Ellsworth who have taken the Honor Flight Southwest Minnesota journey to Washington, D.C., have been invited to serve as parade marshals for the Family Fun Days parade at 5 p.m. Saturday in Ellsworth.
PASADENA, Calif. — Paul Summers LaRoche anticipates playing for his largest audience ever on Saturday morning. During the Tournament of Roses Parade — viewed by an estimated 700,000 people along the parade route as well as a TV audience of 52 million Americans and additional viewers in 220 countries around the world — his band, Brulé, will be featured on the “One Nation” float sponsored by RFD-TV.
Round Lake celebrates second annual Winterfest
