OST ends season with energetic Disney musical
OKOBOJI, Iowa — Okoboji Summer Theater has chosen a blockbuster as its season’s final production. Its performance of “Beauty and the Beast” crackles with energy and showcases a fine troupe of singers and dancers. Based on a French fable, the stage version of “Beauty and the Beast” was preceded by Disney’s animated movie version, released in 1991.By Margaret Hedeen Sabongi , August 20, 2010
Play review: Can you figure out Miss Madrigan's secret?
OKOBOJI, Iowa — “One can lie, but the truth is more interesting.” The truth seems to be what each character is hiding in the mysterious play, “The Chalk Garden” by Enid Bagnold. The cast at the Okoboji Summer Theatre embodied these richly written characters and ended to an instant standing ovation in one of the last plays of the season. The many plot twists will have audiences engaged from start to finish.August 05, 2010
Farce sprints across the Okoboji stage
OKOBOJI, Iowa — Currently playing at Okoboji Summer Theatre (OST), the aptly titled “See How They Run” by the late Philip King is British farce on the gallop. Five of the characters race across the stage, out to the garden, back to the living room and into the kitchen; all of them appear to be clergy. But which one is not really a man of the cloth?By Katherine Hedeen , July 08, 2010

Sweetness shines through in hybrid 'Paper Heart'
LOS ANGELES (AP) — You could think of "Paper Heart" as sort of a benevolent version of the Sacha Baron Cohen model, with its mixture of documentary and fiction. Only instead of providing raunchy satire or exposing people's prejudices, it seems all Charlyne Yi wants to do is sweetly entertain.By CHRISTY LEMIRE,AP Movie Critic , August 05, 2009
