Taking a bite of the Big Apple: Journey to NYC is trip-of-a-lifetime for WHS singers
WORTHINGTON — New York City was the destination, with musical and educational expansion as the goal, when 107 Worthington High School (WHS) choral students, led by WHS choir director Kerry Johnson, headed to the Big Apple in late March.
With nine official chaperones and 15 additional “tour tag-alongs,” the 132-member Worthington group boarded three Readings Bus Lines coaches on the afternoon of March 25 — and arrived at their hotel in New Jersey roughly 24 hours later.

Sounds of music: Band members make most of musical ambassadorship
WORTHINGTON — Amid sounds of music, bonds of friendship between Worthington and Crailsheim were strengthened during the “Amazing” Worthington City Band’s recent visit to the southern German city.
The road to this adventure began simply, with an invitation from Rudolf Michl, Crailsheim’s mayor, for the “Amazing” Worthington City Band (AWCB) to visit and participate in the community’s annual Kulturwochenende (Cultural Weekend).

Honor Flight veterans in awe of trip
WASHINGTON — On the first anniversary of Honor Flight Southwest Minnesota’s inaugural flight, more than 100 World War II veterans from across southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa were touring the memorials on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., all thanks to the generosity of people here at home.
