SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement about blowing and drifting snow for Pipestone, Murray, Cottonwood, Nobles and Jackson counties in Minnesota and Osceola and Dickinson counties in Iowa.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The National Weather Service has extended the winter weather advisory for Cottonwood, Jackson and Rock counties in Minnesota and Dickinson and Osceola counties in Iowa until 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. The advisories in Lyon County, Iowa, and Rock County, Minn. will expire at midnight tonight.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The National Weather Service has again extended its winter weather advisory for southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa, as many area schools opt for a late Monday morning start.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The freezing drizzle and rain will mix with and eventually change to snow this afternoon as temperatures cool, and will turn into heavier snow late this afternoon and evening, the National Weather Service stated.
The little blue spring horse at Church Park has had a belly full of snow this year, and is up to his belly in it, also. He was probably hoping the groundhog would not see his shadow Tuesday, but, alas, it was not to be. After Monday’s snowfall, it was pretty safe to assume there would be at least six more weeks of winter.
WESTBROOK, Minn. (AP) — A strong winter storm whipped up whiteout conditions, causing state officials to close interstates — sending stranded motorists to National Guard armories and keeping about 200 students at their schools overnight.
MANKATO - The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol opened all of Interstate 90 in Minnesota and all previously closed state highways in south central and southwestern Minnesota this morning.
