Conservative crowd gathers to support potential candidates
MINNEAPOLIS — Two rising Republicans shared the stage at a Minneapolis political rally Wednesday, foreshadowing a potential race to the party’s 2012 presidential nomination.
ST. PAUL — Republican Marty Seifert became the first major governor candidate to announce a running mate Thursday, a northern Twin Cities suburban county commissioner who stumbled on a question that badly damaged another governor ticket’s campaign four years ago.
WORTHINGTON — Standing inside the former home of his great-grandfather Wednesday morning, DFL gubernatorial candidate Mark Dayton led a “listen and learn” session with about 15 Worthington business and community leaders.
ST. PAUL — The precinct caucus excitement from two years ago is not felt in 2010 by most Minnesotans, but a couple dozen governor candidates are working day and night to get their supporters to turn out Tuesday night.
GOP candidates free of ex-Senator’s shadow
ST. PAUL—Norm Coleman joked that he is “free at last, free at last” Monday, hours after he opted out of the Minnesota governor’s race.
Other Republican candidates also may have been chanting that refrain on Martin Luther King Jr. Day after complaining that donations and support were harder to find as GOP activists waited to see what Coleman would do.
