Dietician, doctor weigh in on new lunch guidelines
Teens desire more eating choices at school, more entrenched in dietary habits
WORTHINGTON — With the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 requiring changes to school lunch programs across the nation this fall, most students and parents have noticed the slightly lower calorie caps, the bigger push toward fruits and vegetables and the restrictions on protein and grain portions.

Worthington Middle School emerges victorious at the 2012 regional spelling beeWORTHINGTON — Worthington Middle School, in their first endeavor as hosts of the Southwest Minnesota Spelling Bee on Saturday morning, earned the first place trophy for both team and individual spellers, racking up 164 points as a team. Sixth-grader Xochitl Tobias, of Worthington, out-spelled 49 other students to take home the first place trophy.
