JACKSON — Luverne’s Nick Meyer came through when his team needed it the most.
Hitting out of the No. 9 spot, Meyer had two hits and drove in what proved to be the game-winning run in Luverne’s 2-1 victory over Hector at the LDW Legion tournament in Jackson Saturday.
JACKSON — After winning a pair of games Saturday and claiming a 4-3 victory over Blue Earth early Sunday, Adrian Post 32 rallied with a four-run sixth inning to edge Luverne, 10-9, late Sunday afternoon in the championship game of the LDW Legion Baseball Tournament.
ADRIAN — Jordon Kontz hasn’t missed a step since the end of the high school season.
Kontz had four hits and drove in four runs to lead Adrian past Edgerton 12-4 in an American Legion baseball game Tuesday night.
WORTHINGTON — After not playing a game in more than two weeks, it took a while for Worthington’s Joe Ahrens to shake off the rust.
However, once the right-hander found his groove, he was nearly unhittable as Worthington opened its Legion baseball season with a 5-4 come-from-behind victory over Okabena Monday.
SLAYTON — After falling behind 4-1 following the top of the second inning Tuesday night, Slayton chipped away and scored four runs on six hits during the final four frames to claim a 5-4 victory over Okabena in American Legion baseball action.
