Post 3958 scored 11 runs in the first three innings Tuesday night against Sioux Falls East and held on to an 11-6 victory in the first game of a doubleheader.
FULDA — For the Worthington VFW baseball team, the ping of the aluminum bats was music to their ears.
After spending the weekend with wooden bats in their hands, Post 3958 put on an offensive clinic in a pair of victories over Fulda Monday night.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D — After falling behind 3-0 in the top of the first inning, the Worthington VFW baseball team rallied for a 5-3 victory over Brandon Valley in the first game of the Sioux Falls Wooden Bat Tournament.
ADRIAN — Marshall Orange’s Lee Christensen was a tough out for Adrian all night long.
The third baseman had four hits and scored four times — including what proved to be the game-winning run — as Marshall defeated Adrian 9-7 in a VFW baseball game Thursday night.
SLAYTON — Slayton’s Eric Wieneke felt right at home in the batter’s box Monday night.
Wieneke had three hits and scored four times, but Slayton (1-2) couldn’t overcome an early Worthington lead as the visiting Worthington team defeated Slayton, 8-6, in a VFW tilt.
BRANDON, S.D. — In its first three games of the season, the Worthington VFW won a game, lost a game and tied a game over the weekend.
In the first game, Worthington managed just three hits and committed six errors in a 7-0 loss to Sioux Falls East.
