ELLSWORTH – Brian and Kathy Chapa of the Ellsworth Locker earned two champion awards, four reserve champion awards and two honorable mentions for their entries in the recent Minnesota Meat Processors Convention at Doubletree Hotel and Civic Center, Rochester.

Round Lake teen, who was critically injured, accepts accolades
ADRIAN — Nearly three months after a car crash south of Worthington left a Round Lake teen fighting for his life in a Sioux Falls, S.D., hospital, Benjamin Cunningham was walking, talking and accepting accolades from his 4-H family during the Nobles County 4-H Achievement Banquet Saturday night in Adrian.
SIBLEY, Iowa — Sarah K. Haack, a 2010 graduate of Sibley-Ocheyedan High School, is the recipient of the Hixson Opportunity Award for Osceola County from Iowa State University.
The Hixson Opportunity Award is a half-tuition scholarship offered annually to 100 Iowa students.
Annual banquet recognizes youths
WORTHINGTON — The Nobles County 4-H program conducted its annual banquet and awards ceremony Saturday night in Worthington, handing out numerous awards and accolades to its members and adult leaders.
LAKEFIELD — “Grow Green with 4-H” was the theme for the 2009 Jackson County 4-H Recognition Banquet on Nov. 22. More than 330 people attended the event at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Activity Center in Lakefield. The Enterprise Earners and LaCrosse Loyal Workers 4-H Clubs served as hosts. Accomplishments of members, leaders and friends for 2008-2009 were recognized.
