WILMONT — Joe Arens pitched seven and one-third innings while allowing one unearned run on six hits to lead the Wilmont Cardinals to a 4-1 win over the Minneota Mudhens during an amateur baseball game Monday.
The Luverne Cardinals baseball team participated in the Class AA Minnesota State High School Baseball Tournament last Thursday and Friday against St. Cloud Cathedral, Hermantown and Delano in St. Cloud.
Getting only three runners on base during the entire seven innings Friday morning, the Section 3A champion Windom Eagles were eliminated from the 2013 Class A state high school baseball tournament without scoring a run in two games.
