Column: 'Tis the season to remember the reason
WORTHINGTON — “Deck the halls with boughs of holly…” Since the day after Thanksgiving, my family and I have noticed how quickly lights went up on homes and businesses in many communities. It seemed as though the minute Thanksgiving was officially over, at least according to the clock, the decorations emerged at breakneck speed, and we certainly wondered why. It could be that many are just in a particularly festive mood, or maybe the weather was perfect for putting up lights and thus avoiding the joy of frostbite nipping at your noseBy Brenda Matasovsky , December 14, 2012

Dragons stay atop conference with 73-61 victory over Eagles
ADRIAN — If someone would have told Adrian head coach Randy Strand that his team would open the game on a 30-8 run, he probably wouldn’t have believed it. “We were telling the girls that it was going to be a one possession game all the way,” Strand said. “What you do on defense each trip down or what you do on offense each trip down is going to be important. We expected a real tight game, and it got interesting at the end.” Even with a large lead, the Adrian girls’ came away with a 73-61 victory over Southwest Christian in a Red Rock Conference game featuring two of the top teams in the conference.By Aaron Hagen , February 01, 2008
Eagles dim Quasars, 79-44
EDGERTON — For Southwest Star Concept, it was a bad night to run into Southwest Christian’s best defensive effort. “This was probably one of our better defensive games that we’ve played all year,” SWC head coach Jamie Pap said. “Defensively, we are finally coming around. It took us a while to get going this year, but we’re getting real close.” SWC (8-1, 10-3) used solid defense and a deadly perimeter game to defeat SSC, 79-44, in a Red Rock Conference boys’ basketball contest Monday.By Aaron Hagen , January 29, 2008
