Green up and clean up
Several boxes of unwanted electronics sit Monday afternoon outside of Worthington’s First State Bank Southwest. The bank accepted, at no charge, multiple types of electronic equipment Monday for the purpose of recycling. The effort was a “go local” and “go green” project of Community Banking Month.

Lake clean up in Worthington
WORTHINGTON — Assisted by scores of volunteers armed with gloves and black trash bags, Lake Okabena received its customary spring cleaning Saturday.
Human-made trash and natural debris were both removed from the shoreline by more than 80 people organized by the Lake Okabena Improvement Association (LOIA).

Joint powers’ request for legacy funds advances to Worthington City Council WORTHINGTON — Members of the Okabena-Ocheda-Bella Clean Water Partnership joint powers board voted Tuesday to request $2 million in legacy funds be dedicated to Lake Okabena and clean water projects in the Okabena-Ocheda Watershed District. The legacy funds are from the city’s 2008 sale of Worthington Regional Hospital, of which more than $10 million has yet to be earmarked for specific projects.
