REPRINT 1944: Kiwanis Lends Child Hand; Kid Becomes Pianist
The local Kiwanis club offered financial assistance to a kid who became tremendously successful and became a staff pianist for WCCO, returning to Worthington to give a concert in 1934.

WORTHINGTON –– Local music lovers will have their pick of concerts early next week when hundreds of student musicians from Worthington Middle School (WMS) and Worthington High School (WHS) perform Monday and Tuesday nights, respectively.
St. Mary’s School students performed their Christmas concert Wednesday night at the school. The 27 poinsettias in front of the stage represent each of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting last week.

WORTHINGTON — A celebration of Advent themes — hope, love, joy and peace — will be represented in song this Sunday at 2 p.m. when the Worthington Chamber Singers are in concert at Worthington’s First United Methodist Church.
