Governor Dewey was busy attacking the New Deal in 1944, though it didn't help him in that election or the next one.

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. -- Law enforcement officers from hundreds of agencies gathered this morning for the funeral of Christopher L. Dewey, a Mahnomen County deputy sheriff who died Aug. 9 after being shot 18 months ago.
Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Deputy Christopher Dewey is making physical and mental improvements during his ongoing rehab and may be released as soon as May 6 from a specialty hospital here, his doctors said today.

FARGO - Deputy Christopher Dewey, critically wounded early Wednesday, now is breathing without the aid of a ventilator as he continues to show improvements from his gunshot wounds.
