Governor views damage as estimates top $100 million
DULUTH — With all Northland residents apparently safe from immediate danger, state, federal and local officials began assessing damage Thursday from this week’s torrential rains and flash flood and already are putting the price tag well beyond $100 million.
A former Duluth school bus driver was sentenced Monday to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a preteen girl he was driving home from school in 2006 and to the sexual assault of another preteen girl in an unrelated case.

DULUTH — The Duluth City Council unanimously voted to outlaw the sale, manufacture, purchase or possession of synthetic marijuana in city limits Monday night. In so doing, Duluth became the first city in the state to make synthetic marijuana illegal.
