WORTHINGTON — It is said that good things come to those who wait. That saying couldn’t be any truer Wednesday when the Worthington Cubs waited until the bottom of the eighth to score the winning run in amatuer baseball action versus the Milroy Irish in a 2-1 win in Worthington.

WHS Hockey: WHS mounts comeback
WORTHINGTON — As the final seconds ticked off the clock in the Worthington boys’ hockey game Friday night, head coach Pat Christopherson shouted, “And that’s a victory!” while slapping the boards with his palms.
The Trojans scored seven unanswered goals to defeat Fairmont 7-4, recording their first win of the season and only their second victory in the past two years.

FAIRMONT — Aaron Siefken struck out 10 batters in nine solid innings and Jon Wilson belted a bases-clearing, three-run triple Thursday night, helping the Fairmont Martins claim a 6-1 victory over the Wilmont Cardinals in Game 5 of their Region 13C best-of-five amateur baseball playoff series at Herb Wolf Park.
