WORTHINGTON — A request for public defenders was approved last week for Amy Marie Dammer and Bryon James Fischer of Rushmore, who are charged in Nobles County District Court with check forgery and possession of stolen checks.
LUVERNE — Charges were filed in Rock County District Court this week against a 26-year-old Brewster man who allegedly signed a birth certificate in March, falsely claiming to be the father of the child.
WORTHINGTON — After three hours of deliberation, two consultations with the judge and one instance of being sent back into the jury room to fetch the correct form, a jury in Nobles County District Court rendered guilty verdicts on both counts against Pamela Elizabeth Carey, 42, of Sioux Falls, S.D.

WORTHINGTON — He has multiple forgery convictions in a variety of counties across southern Minnesota and owes more than $10,000 for court fees and restitution from the past decade.
WILLMAR — The 31-year-old Willmar woman charged with assault for biting off a portion of another woman’s finger during an Aug. 24 fight pleaded guilty Monday to fifth-degree assault and aggravated forgery.
