ELLSWORTH — Hills-Beaver Creek’s Jeff Sandbulte produced 30 points, seven rebounds and five assists to lead the Patriots to a 69-58 Red Rock Conference boys basketball victory over the Ellsworth Panthers Friday night.
OKABENA – Scoring 27 points Thursday, Southwestern United sophomore Courtney Place surpassed the 1,000-point mark in her stellar varsity career and paced the Wildcats to a dominating 72-35 victory over Madelia in an opening round Section 2A South high school girls basketball game.
The victory advances seventh-seeded SWU to the tournament quarterfinals and a clash with No. 2 Granada-Huntley-East Chain (13-6) at East Chain Tuesday.
WORTHINGTON — After sweeping the season series against Windom Area, the Worthington Trojans will see the Eagles for a third time this year in the opening round of the Section 3AA Boys’ Basketball Tournament on March 2 in Worthington.
The Trojans picked up the No. 3 seed in the southern division, while the Eagles were given the No. 6 seed. The game begins at 7:30 p.m.
