WINDOM — More than a dozen judges were in a Cottonwood County courtroom Wednesday afternoon to welcome a new addition to the bench in service to Minnesota’s Fifth Judicial District.
Judicial nominee to be sent to Governor Dayton
WORTHINGTON — The Commission on Judicial Selection announced Thursday it is recommending four candidates to Gov. Mark Dayton for consideration to fill two judgeship vacancies in the Fifth Judicial District.
Jackson Preservation Alliance loses judicial ruling
JACKSON — Jackson County will get the full $25,000 bond posted by the Jackson Preservation Alliance in its unsuccessful attempt to halt the demolition of the Jackson County Resource Center, a judge ruled this week.
Terry Branstad, who served as Iowa’s governor from 1983 to 1999, is once again a candidate for that office, and he made news last week by suggesting replacement of the state’s judicial selection system.
