Udermann said office short-staffed to handle workload
WORTHINGTON — Nobles County Commissioners on Tuesday received a request from Assessor Joe Udermann to review staffing levels in the assessor’s office. Currently, a staff of three is cross-trained to work with individuals and complete property inspections. Both Jackson and Cottonwood counties have a staff of six, and each has fewer parcels than Nobles County.
WORTHINGTON — Members of the Worthington School District 518 Board approved a levy of $4,885,083 payable for 2012 Tuesday night, following a committee recommendation that would reduce the levied amount by $250,000.
Board member Mark Shepherd said the reduction was based on projections that show the district can afford the reduction and keep a promise made to taxpayers.
WORTHINGTON — A 1-year-old child in Nobles County has been diagnosed with a “very high” blood lead level, and because the level is higher than 15 micrograms per deciliter, an investigator from the Minnesota Department of Health’s Asbestos and Lead Compliance Program will visit the county next week to visit the home where the child resides.
