PAUL — Getting 22 points from sprinter Jack Thony, 12 from state shot put champion Tanner Nepp and six more from hurdler Tyler Scotting, the Murray County Central Rebels tied Perham (40 points each) for second place in the final boys’ standings of the Class A state track and field meet Saturday at Klas Field on the campus of Hamline University.
ST. PAUL — Both the Hills-Beaver Creek and Luverne boys’ 4x100-meter relay teams are highly seeded for today’s running preliminaries as the 2013 Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) track and field meet opens at Klas Field on the campus of Hamline University in St. Paul.
ADRIAN — Andrew Hirsch allowed one run, struck out four batters and walked one in three innings of work to get the win for the Mountain Lake Area Wolverines in an 11-6 victory over the Adrian Dragons Monday in the Red Rock Conference baseball opener for both teams.
SLAYTON – Displaying remarkable depth and winning a total of 15 events – eight in girls’ competition and seven in the boys’ meet – Worthington claimed both team titles Friday at the season’s first outdoor high school track and field meet, hosted by Murray County Central.
SLAYTON — One season ago, the Murray County Central Rebels won the Red Rock Conference baseball title by compiling a 9-1 conference record during the regular season.
However, repeating as conference champions will not be an easy task for the Rebels this season.
MINNEAPOLIS — Finishing the game on a 23-10 burst Thursday afternoon, the top-seeded Maranatha Christian Academy Mustangs snapped open a close contest against Section 2A champion Mountain Lake Area in the quarterfinals of Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Class A boys’ basketball state tournament, advancing to the semifinals with a 61-44 victory over the Wolverines at Williams Arena.
MINNEAPOLIS — For the second year in a row, the Mountain Lake Area boys basketball team is making an appearance at the Class A State Tournament. However, this team isn’t quite the same as the one that finished fourth a year ago.

MANKATO — The Mountain Lake Area Wolverines are headed back to state after defeating Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity 65-30 in the championship game of the MSHSL Class A Section 2 Boys Basketball Tournament on Friday.
