LUVERNE — Home to the western fringed prairie orchid, Wol’s spike rush, tumble grass, pygmy plants and even water starworts, the Touch the Sky Prairie in Rock County is filled with beauty sought out by naturalists, biologists and anyone with an appreciation for native prairie forbs and grasses.
WORTHINGTON — A free breakfast will be served to veterans at 7:30 a.m. Friday at Prairie Elementary School in Worthington.
A program, open to the public, will be at 7:45 a.m. in the school’s main gymnasium.

U.S. 104’s Chad Cummings is tased Tuesday during the Nite to Unite at Pioneer Village. Cummings, along with several others, volunteered to be tased to raise money for Southwest Minnesota Honor Flight. Cummings’ t-shirt stated, “I took volts for vets.”
