Beer garden, Daily Globe tent provide cover for concerts
WORTHINGTON — The sun didn’t make an appearance either Saturday or Sunday, but the dreary weather conditions couldn’t dampen the spirits of organizers and participants at the Worthington Windsurfing Regatta and Unvarnished Music Festival.
WORTHINGTON — The festival’s official name details two of its major components: windsurfing and music. But over the years, the Worthington Windsurfing Regatta and Unvarnished Music Festival has grown to encompass other activities, such as creating and displaying art.
WORTHINGTON — On a whim, Denise Erwin painted up a couple of Adirondack-style chairs to decorate the Daily Globe tent. The year was 2003, and Erwin, the Daily Globe circulation manager, admits she went a bit overboard in creating a Hawaiian theme. But her artistic inspiration resulted in a charitable event that has, to date, raised more than $18,000 for local causes.
