JACKSON — The Round Lake man charged with the shooting of a cougar in Jackson County entered a written plea of guilty to taking a cougar in a closed season and waived his appearance in Jackson County District Court.
Daniel B. Hamann, 27, was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and another $1,000 in restitution to the state, according to court documents.
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — State prison officials are recalculating the sentences of about 3,200 prisoners because of an Iowa Supreme Court decision last month that said inmates who had their probation revoked should be given credit for time served while under supervision of the Department of Corrections.
WORTHINGTON — A Worthington man who pleaded guilty in January to possession of 10 kilos or more of marijuana from a 2008 arrest was sentenced Tuesday to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
The actual sentence is for 27 months with the Minnesota Department of Correction, but that sentence is stayed with the condition that Fernando Dominguez, 38, serve 90 days in jail, with credit for the 40 days he has already served.
