LUVERNE — One way to stay warm on a cold day is to stay active — something that the Worthington and Luverne softball teams did in Friday’s Southwest Conference doubleheader, combining for 61 runs on 68 hits with 17 doubles, one triple and four long balls.
REDWOOD FALLS — Paige Gravenhof scored a game-high 19 points and picked up five rebounds to lead the Worthington Trojan girls basketball team to a 57-24 victory over the Redwood Valley Cardinals in a Southwest Conference basketball game Friday.

Band heads to final competitions with winning seasonal record
WORTHINGTON — The Worthington High School (WHS) Trojan marching band continued its winning ways last Saturday as it finished second overall among a competitive field at the Sioux Falls, S.D., 2012 Festival of Bands USA event.
WORTHINGTON — Following a successful “Meet the Trojans” parent preview night June 14, the 120-member “Spirit of Worthington” Trojan marching band opened its 2012 competitive marching season last weekend.
WORTHINGTON — The missing Trojan statue that vanished in the early morning hours Saturday has been returned to Worthington High School, according to principal Paul Karelis. The 6 foot tall statue showed up at the school at about 8:30 p.m. Monday night.

LUVERNE — With the game tied at 59 with just 10 seconds left on the clock and the ball in their possession, the Trojans boys’ basketball team called a timeout to attempt to finish the game in regulation.
