Area Catholic Daughters to host state convention

WORTHINGTON —The Minnesota Catholic Daughters of the Americans 46th Biennial State Convention will be Friday and Saturday at the Worthington Event Center. Masses will be at St. Mary’s Church,  Worthington.


The convention is hosted by Court Santa Maria 247, Adrian; Court St. Bernard 886, Lismore; and Court Madonna 839, Wilmont.

Crossroads Chorale to perform locally

WORTHINGTON — The Crossroads College Chorale will perform a concert at 7 p.m. today at Worthington Christian Church, 1501 N. Douglas Ave.

The Chorale is the largest outreach group of Crossroads College in Rochester. The Worthington concert is part of its spring tour.

Women’s conference coming to Luverne

LUVERNE — Beautiful Life Women’s Conferences will have a “Breaking Barriers” conference Saturday at the American Reformed Church, 304 N. Fairview Drive, Luverne. Doors open at 8 a.m. with the conference from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Guest speaker will be Deidra Riggs of Nebraska. There will also be vendor booths, breakfast and a lunch catered by Bluestem of Luverne.

Beef dinner is Sunday at Trinity Lutheran

SIOUX VALLEY — A beef dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Trinity Lutheran Church Lutheran Women’s Missionary League at the church, located at 38523 730th St., Lakefield.

The meal will include slow-cooked roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, homegrown sweet corn, glazed carrots, cole slaw, desserts and beverage.

Tickets available for Prayer Breakfast

WORTHINGTON — The Community Prayer Breakfast will be 8 a.m. April 25 at the American Reformed Church, 1720 N. Burlington Ave.

Speaker will be Paul Ten Haken.

Tickets are available from the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce, Avera Johnson Eye Clinic, Ax Photo and any Early Risers Kiwanis member.

LWML Spring Rally set at St. Matthew Lutheran

WORTHINGTON — The Spring Rally of the Worthington Zone Lutheran Women’s Missionary League will be April 18 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 1505 Dover St., Worthington.

Registration and coffee are at 8:30 a.m., and program at 9 a.m. The Rev. John Grein will speak on “Being a Christian in a Secular World.” Noon lunch will be served. The ingathering will be cleaning supplies for Love INC of Worthington.

Salad luncheon coming up at Windom First UM

WINDOM — A salad luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 23 in the fellowship hall at First United Methodist Church, 974 Sixth St., Windom. Take-out meals will be available.

A White Elephant Sale will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Mark calendar for National Day of Prayer

WORTHINGTON — The National Day of Prayer will be May 7.

The Worthington Area Christian Ministers Association along with Pray Worthington will host a National Day of Prayer gathering from noon to 1 p.m. in the Farmers Room at the Nobles County Government Center, downtown Worthington. This is a time to collectively pray for our nation and its leaders.

A Concert of Prayer is also planned from 7 to 8:30 p.m. May 8 at Comunidad Cristiana of Worthington, 350 W. Oxford St.
