Church participates in Angel Gown Program
LAKE PARK, Iowa — First Presbyerian Church of Lake Park has become a drop-off location for used wedding gowns for the Angel Gown Program.
The Angel Gown Program was begun by NICU Helping Hands in Fort Worth, Texas, to give comfort to families who have lost a baby while in the hospital. Sewn by volunteer seamstresses, donated wedding dresses are used to create baby gowns that are used for final photos and burial services by families grieving the death of their child.
Wedding dresses can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and noon Monday through Friday or Sunday morning or mailed to First Presbyerian Church, 1220 S. Market St., Lake Park, Iowa 51347. Packages should note “Angel Gown Donation.”
Seamstresses who would like to volunteer time to create dresses for the Angel Gown Program can contact Ericka Ehret at firstname.lastname@example.org.
