Drooger leads Flying Dutchmen past Chargers, 59-52

WESTBROOK -- Alyson Drooger ripped the nets for 27 points and pulled down 19 rebounds Tuesday night to help lift the Edgerton Flying Dutchmen girls' basketball team to a 59-52 Red Rock Conference victory over Westbrook-Walnut Grove.

W-WG led 26-24 at halftime before Edgerton opened up a double-digit lead midway through the second half and held on for the victory.

Edgerton's Katie Hadler contributed 11 points and seven assists, and Hailey Van Kley had 10 points and five steals.

Audra Schmidt sparked W-WG by scoring 25 points, grabbing 14 rebounds and blocking three shots. Jenny Hoffman had 11 points and five steals, while Kassandra Jarmer hauled in nine boards.

Both teams play conference games Thursday, as Edgerton (2-0, 3-0) visits Ellsworth, and W-WG (0-2, 0-3) travels to Round Lake-Brewster.

TRACY -- Paced by the scoring of Brooke Burmeister (22 points, six rebounds) and Anna Meneely (20 points, six assists, six steals), the Jackson County Central Huskies defeated Tracy-Milroy-Balaton.

Ashley Kruse provided 15 points for JCC (3-2), while Megan Bezdicek had 14 points and nine boards.

Mallory Fultz led T-M-B (0-2) with 21 points. Lindsey Daniels (eight rebounds) scored 13 points, and Michelle Lanoue had 11 points.

PIPESTONE -- Faith Tinklenberg scored 18 points, as Pipestone Area posted a big victory over Southwest Christian.

Chelsey Evans (16) and Brooke Woelber (12) also scored in double figures for the Arrows. Megan VanderPoel filled up the stat sheets with eight points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Kara Van Dyke and Brianna Spronk scored 14 and 11 points, respectively, to lead the Eagles.

PA (2-0) hosts Windom Friday, while SWC (1-1) visits Murray County Central Thursday.

Blue Earth 50, SSC 30

BLUE EARTH -- Southwest Star Concept was held under 20 points in each half, as the Blue Earth Buccaneers earned a victory over the Quasars.

Meagan Grandgenett led Blue Earth (2-1) with 19 points, while Katie Erdahl scored 13 points.

Brooke DeWall charted 11 points and eight rebounds for SSC. She now has 996 career points.

Syd Place had nine points, and Breanna Rients had three assists for the Quasars (3-1), who host Hills-Beaver Creek Thursday.

MCC 59, Windom 57

WINDOM -- Murray County Central led by 10 at halftime and had to hold off the Windom Eagles down the stretch to earn the victory.

Emily Bose led MCC with 21 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and four shot blocks. Kate Robinson scored 13 points, and Colleen Everson had five rebounds.

Alyssa Schmidt (10 points, seven assists, four steals) and Abby Van Meveran (five rebounds, four steals) also topped the stat sheets for the Rebels.

Malori Paplow led Windom (0-2) with 14 points and eight rebounds. Iina Takala had 10 points, while Amy Robinson and Casey Christensen each scored eight points.

Windom visits Pipestone Area Friday, while MCC (2-0) hosts Southwest Christian Thursday.

LUVERNE -- Callie Sawtelle fueled Luverne with 21 points and 17 rebounds, as the Cardinals edged Hills-Beaver Creek in a back-and-forth game.

Liberty Robinson scored 12 points for the Cardinals (2-1), who host Southwest Christian Friday.

Brittany Helgeson (19) and Jocelyn Bucher (12) scored in double digits to lead H-BC. Fourteen of Helgeson's points came in the second half.

H-BC (0-4) visits Southwest Star Concept Thursday.

GEORGE, Iowa -- Shelby Nagel posted a double-double to lead the Mustangs past the Comets, knocking down 20 points to go along with 11 rebounds.

With the victory, the Mustangs improve to 2-1 in the Siouxland Conference and 2-2 overall, while the loss drops the Comets to 0-4.

Abbie Voss followed with 12 points, while Rachel Kruse scored 10 points and grabbed eight boards.

Patrice Peters had eight points and five rebounds, and Kristie Meyerhoff posted five points and five assists.

George/Little Rock hosts Sibley-Ocheyedan Friday evening.

SIBLEY, Iowa -- Paced by 19 points apiece from Maggie Ernst and Sara Greenfield, the Generals pulled away in the second half to beat the Pioneers.

Ernst also had six rebounds on the night and Greenfield grabbed eight. Danelle Midema added 15 points, four assists and two steals, while Jessica Ackerman had six points, three steals, three assists and seven rebounds.

Okoboji was led by Miley Hunziker with 24 points and Jenny Brons with 14.

The Generals visit George/Little Rock Friday night.

GEORGE, Iowa -- Tyler Starr had 13 points and nine rebounds to help George-Little Rock defeat Boyden-Hull in a Siouxland Conference matchup.

Alex Hopp made four three-pointers to finish with 12 points for G-LR, while Trev Fiedler contributed nine points, eight assists and four steals.

G-LR (2-1) hosts Sibley-Ocheyedan Friday.
