Red Rock Central student killed in auto accident

SANBORN -- Psychologists at Red Rock Central High School are counseling students following the death of Christopher Lee Miller, a senior at the school, in a Thursday evening auto accident.

"We have had counselors in all day, we'll have them Monday and Tuesday and as long as it takes for our students to heal," said Bruce Olson, Red Rock Central's principal, Friday afternoon. "We've had other school districts calling and offering their counseling services, and we do appreciate our neighbors."

Miller sustained injuries Thursday night in a one-vehicle rollover south of Sanborn. He was airlifted from the scene and transported to North Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:30 Friday morning.

"Chris was a nice kid, a respectful young man. We're going to miss him," Olson said.

The other two occupants of the vehicle, driver Jacob Fredrickson and Alex Kircher, were treated and released with minor injuries at the Springfield hospital.

Miller was a senior tight end on Red Rock Central's football team, and both Fredrickson and Kircher also play for the Falcons. The squad forfeited Friday night's game against Buffalo Lake-Hector.

"We're just kind of a grieving Red Rock community right now," Olson said. "But we know that these things will happen and we'll pull together and get through it."
