Missing girl found at Canada border

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - After a week of worry for her family, a missing 14-year-old from Kansas was found at the Dunseith, N.D., border crossing.

The girl, who had left home in late February, was identified Thursday as she was entering the U.S.

She had visited the International Peace Garden, which straddles the U.S.-Canadian border, then returned the same day, said Chris Misson with U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The girl's older sister said Tuesday the girl was not harmed and now is at home in Larned, Kan.

Russell Rice, the 20-year-old man she was traveling with, was being held Tuesday in the Devils Lake jail, pending extradition to Kansas.

The Hays (Kans.) Daily News reported Rice could face charges of harboring, concealing, aiding and abetting a runaway.
