Worthington man offers reward

WORTHINGTON -- A rural Worthington man whose residence was burglarized in August is offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest.

The victim, who lives on an acreage in the 31000 block of 310th Street, said the door of his home was kicked open between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Aug. 10.

Neighbors who were questioned reported nothing but hearing the victim's dog bark.

Stolen from the home were shotguns, rifles, pistols, a 250-pound safe, a jewelry box and more.

"There was antique jewelry, a gold pocket watch, old coins -- family heirlooms," the victim said.

The feeling of knowing his home had been violated is "pretty crazy," he added.

"You check your doors every time you come home," he said.

Anyone with information can contact the victim at (507) 360-7822 or call the Nobles County Sheriff's Office at (507) 372-2136.
