Minnesota 60 landscape plans to be unveiled
WORTHINGTON -- Area residents interested in the aesthetic design plans for the Minnesota 60 construction project are invited to attend a meeting from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce's conference room, 1121 Third Ave.
A committee of Worthington residents and the Minnesota Department of Transportation has prepared designs for the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge and railings; Morningside neighborhood wall patterns and plantings; and the wrought iron elements at the bridge's pedestrian entrance.
Construction on Minnesota 60 begins in Worthington next spring. The first phase from Nobles County 4 to Paul Avenue began in August. All phases of the expansion from Bigelow to Interstate 90 are expected to be complete by the end of 2013.
