ATV crash update

Sunday update:

SIBLEY, Iowa -- A 24-year-old man from Little Rock, Iowa, has died from injuries he sustained in an ATV-pickup crash Thursday evening north of Sibley.

SIBLEY, Iowa -- A 24-year-old man from Little Rock, Iowa, was airlifted to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D., Thursday evening following an ATV-pickup crash north of Sibley.

Anthony Nachtigal was attempting to enter Osceola County L-40 from a field driveway at 5288 130th St. when he was struck by a southbound 2004 Chevy pickup driven by Robert Tiedeman, 62, of Sibley.

The ATV struck the pickup in the right rear side, and Nachtigal was thrown head-first over the handlebars.

Nachtigal was taken to Osceola Community Hospital by the Osceola County Ambulance and was airlifted from there to Sioux Falls with major head injuries, according to a report released by the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.

Avera was not releasing any information on Nachtigal's condition as of Friday afternoon.

Assisting the ambulance at the scene was the Sibley Fire Department.
