Worthington's Sanchez earns Lutheran Social Service Spirit Award

WORTHINGTON -- Linda Sanchez from Worthington received the prestigious Spirit Award from Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS).  The award honors employees who demonstrate outstanding commitment and dedication to the LSS vision and mission.

This year, 88 of the 2,300 employees at LSS were recognized with the award.  Sanchez serves in Senior Nutrition for LSS.

"Honorees who received the coveted LSS Spirit Award were nominated by their department managers and supervisors," explained Jodi Harpstead, CEO of LSS. "The Spirit Award honorees demonstrate the finest of LSS' values. I am proud to work alongside such outstanding individuals."

Employees were honored and recognized Oct. 12 at an awards luncheon at Salem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud.

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota began in 1865 when a Lutheran pastor and his congregation opened an orphanage for children near Red Wing.  Today, LSS helps 100,000 Minnesotans each year to live and work in a community with safety, dignity and hope.  Through a wide range of services statewide, LSS seeks to provide safe and supportive homes for children, counseling to restore health and wellness in families, community living for people with disabilities, and options that help seniors develop independence.
