'Haunted Museum' offers Halloween attractions for all

Submitted Photo Halloween decorations sit ready to be admired at the Murray County Historical Museum in Slayton.

SLAYTON -- Whether searching for tricks or treats, people young and old are invited to the "Haunted Museum" experience today at the Murray County Historical Museum.

Normal museum tours with a not-so-scary twist will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Those searching for more of a fright may walk through the "haunted hallway" from 4 to 7 p.m., said Diane Clercx, museum director.

"It's very entertaining. We have lots of good comments and the haunted hallway is especially scary and fun," Clercx said.

This is the sixth year for the affair, sponsored by the Murray County Historical Society.

Costumes and donations are encouraged, but not required, Clercx said.

For those in search of a treat, popcorn will be served.

The museum is located at 2480 29th St., Slayton.
