SMAHC announces grant funding
MARSHALL -- The Southwest Minnesota Arts & Humanities Council has recently provided grant funding to 21 arts organizations totaling $102,202.
SMAHC grants are made possible in part by appropriations from the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the State's general fund, and its arts and cultural heritage fund that was created by a vote of the people of Minnesota on Nov. 4, 2008.
Grants to area organizations include:
- Friends of the Auditorium, Worthington, $5,000 for a community theatre production of "Cinderella."
- Rhythm of the River, Jackson, $5,000 for their 7th annual music festival.
- Calumet Players, Pipestone, $3,700 for their production of "Tarzan: The Musical."
- Worthington Area Symphony Orchestra, $5,000 for a spring concert.
