Luverne Hot Dog Nite July 18
LUVERNE -- Luverne businesses will join in serving more than 15,000 free hot dogs to visitors July 18 during the 51st anniversary of the Luverne Area chamber's Customer Appreciation Hot Dog Nite.
Serving begins at 5:30 p.m., and will continue until all the hot dogs are gone.
In conjunction with Hot Dog Nite, the Luverne Farmers Market will be open from 4 to 7 p.m. at Redbird Field; the sixth annual Wiener Dog Beauty Contest begins at 7 p.m., followed by the 10th annual Wiener Dog races. The third annual Wienerman Triathlon, a four-person relay, begins at 6:15 p.m.
There will also be free mini-train rides for the kids, Tae Kwon Do demonstrations, Spotlight Dancer performances, the second annual Hot Dog Fine Art Contest, music and pie at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church at 6:30 p.m. and Music on Main from 8 to 11 p.m. with Cody Christensen.
In addition to free hot dogs, food vendors will be on-site selling kettle corn, snow cones and ice cream.
