"It's about the same as what I was doing, but it's more companies to work with and learn about," she said. "I've been an agent since 1985, so it's not something new to me, but all the companies I'm working with are."

Office manager and agent Lori Bristow said the company is excited to welcome Brunk to its team and is looking forward to working with her.

"We're very happy to have her at the office," Bristow said. "She brings in several years of experience in areas that we currently have and in other areas as well, such as crop and hail insurance."

Brunk lives with her husband, Bruce Brunk, on their farm north of Rushmore. The couple has two daughters who are both married and three grandchildren. In addition to farming, Bruce also works at Carl's Farm Store in Adrian.

Twenty-eight years ago, Brunk said she wouldn't have anticipated the path her career has taken, but is nevertheless thankful to be where she is.

"I didn't think this would be my life's history, but it is, and I'm enjoying it today," she said.
