MW ‘Star party’ is Friday night

WORTHINGTON — Minnesota West Community and Technical College will host a fall star party from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday near the softball diamonds. Parking is available on the south side of campus off of Lexington drive.

The public is invited to use telescopes that will be set up on-site and observe the skies over Worthington. Attendees are also invited bring your their telescope or binoculars and learn how to use them. The possibility of seeing naked-eye Comet ISON, which will be visible in the beginning of December, will also be discussed.

The event will be held near the softball diamonds on the southwest corner of campus. For more information, contact Paul Seifert at or by phone at 372-3432. It will be cancelled in case of clouds or inclement weather.
