Cottonwood County Fair begins Tuesday

WINDOM — Good food, good shows and entertainment for the entire family all describe the Cottonwood County Fair scheduled to start Tuesday. This year the event features daily performances in the entertainment tent ranging from musicians to magicians. Each evening closes with a performance in the arena including Friday night’s showcase by the Kenya Safari Acrobat Show. The group has performed at the White House, Disney and the Super Bowl.

9 a.m.-3:00 p.m.: 4-H general judging, all clubs


8 a.m.: 4-H Horse Show

10 a.m.-10 p.m.: 4-H Food Stand open

10 a.m.: FFA judging — horticulture, crops and mechanical, Vossen Building

12:30 p.m.: Open Class judging

3-4 p.m., 4:30-5:30 p.m.: DC & Hawk, entertainment tent

5-10 p.m.: People’s choice voting on photography exhibits

5 p.m.: Commercial exhibits open

6 p.m.-Close: Bingo

6:30 p.m.: House Cat and Kitten Show, Oleson Pavilion

7-8:30 p.m.: Flemming Fold, arena

Robin Baumgarn

Robin Baumgarn is a new reporter for the Daily Globe covering the Education and Northwest Iowa beats. Prior to coming to the Globe, she worked for the Ocheyedan Press-Melvin News, a weekly Iowa paper for three years.
