‘Best of The Globe 2018' now underway

WORTHINGTON — Who’s the best of the best in our region?

The Globe wants your help in finding out.

For the second year, The Globe is offering the opportunity for readers to put their favorite local businesses in the spotlight with “Best of The Globe 2018.”

Votes for businesses in the Minnesota counties of Nobles, Cottonwood, Jackson, Murray, Pipestone and Rock, along with Osceola County in Iowa, will be accepted. Readers’ completed ballots will give them the chance to receive a $100 cash prize.

Votes will be collected in multiple categories under the banners of Food, Arts and Entertainment, Professionals and Retail and Services.

This is a chance for readers to celebrate the successful businesses, big and small, throughout the region. Whether it’s outstanding customer service, business location or production selection — or any number of other assets — readers can use their ballots to select the “Best of The Globe.”

This year, “Best of the Globe” ballots will appear online at dglobe.com. Nominations are now underway and be live on the website until Saturday, Sept. 22. Voters many nominate businesses of their choice in 84 categories.

Following the nomination period, voters will have the opportunity to pick between the top five nominations in each category beginning Oct. 1. Voting will continue until Oct. 20, and winners will be announced in a special section published in the Nov. 24 edition of The Globe. Businesses earning Superior and Excellence honors will receive a plaque (Superior), window clings acknowledging their “Best Of” recognition and the prestige of bragging rights.

“Without your vote, this opportunity to recognize the greats of our community would not be possible,” said Joni Harms, publisher of The Globe.
