Rural Chandler man airlifted after being hit by bull

CHANDLER — A rural Chandler man was transported via air ambulance to a Sioux Falls, S.D. hospital after being hit by a bull Monday morning on a farm east of Leota.

According to Nobles County Sheriff Kent Wilkening, the condition of Ivan VanPeursem, 55, was unknown just before 5 p.m. Monday.

According to a press release from the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were dispatched to 15848 110th Street in Chandler at 11:01 a.m. Monday for a report of a male being hit by a bull. VanPeursem was transported by Adrian Ambulance to the Luverne Hospital and was later flown to Sioux Falls. 

Other responding agencies included the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol and Lismore Fire Department.
